Rushcliffe Halt Open Day 2022
A great opportunity for everyone to visit with bus rides form Ruddington to Rushcliffe Halt – and return! See the newly refurbished Hotchley Hill signal box and find out about the station plans. This event will be at the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre (NTHC) on Sunday 31st July between 10am and 4pm.
Organisers say “Our station throws open its doors to show its past and future plans.
Free bus ride from the Ruddington Heritage site and return. Admission fee applies.”
Adults £3 and children (15 and under) can go for free. All guilds raised at the Open Day will go toward the development of Rushcliffe Halt.
Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre is one of Ruddington’s main visitor attractions. It’s a great place for a family day out with miniature railways, vintage buses, model railways and (usually) a full size standard gauge railway covering around nine miles (which is currently not operational, however).
It’s a super place for a day out because you’ll find “Nottingham Heritage Railway, Nottingham Area Bus Society (NABS), Nottingham SMEE, Ruddington MRC, EMRT, Barnwrights & more.”
Also there’s The Heritage Cafe serving hot meals, snacks and drinks. It’s usually open at the weekends from 10am to 4pm (and also on Wednesdays).
Please note: You are advised to check NTCH events for details and cafe opening times, as activities may be subject to change (for example due to volunteers and/or the weather). Email nthcevents@gmail.com and it has a Facebook page.
This event should be on NTHC’s Facebook page >>HERE<<
